On writing

The stories that I aim to tell are deeply rooted in a sense of place. Growing up in Montana I was inspired by the natural beauty of my surroundings, and the local artists and writers who plumbed the depths of life in the Mountain West. I aim to create work that plays along the fault lines between Western myth and small-town truth — mining both for meaning.

Training, Experience, and What’s nExt

Nathan earned an M.Phil in Screenwriting with distinction from Trinity College Dublin. Before setting his sights on the screen, Nathan also worked as a company member of the Brewery Follies, writing and performing sketch comedy.

In 2022, Nathan worked alongside director Cynthia Matty Huber as a Story Producer on a documentary about western photographer Barbara Van Cleve that you can learn more about here.

Nathan won the Fall 2022 Bigfoot Script Contest and MindRiot Development Deal for a yet unproduced hour-long pilot.

In 2023, Nathan joined MindRiot Entertainment as a Creative Executive and worked for a year developing film and television projects alongside an international team.
